A TASTE OF MARRAKECH

A Taste of Marrakech was the single best dining experience in Detroit! Chef Layla is one of the most passionate, genuine, fun and inspiring women I have had the honor to meet. She opened her home and heart to share her love of Moroccan tradition, family and culture through her insanely amazing culinary storytelling (complete with Moroccan serving pieces, lighting, artwork and music). The beauty of her food, depth of flavor and authenticity is beyond words.

The most meaningful part of the evening was sharing after dinner tea together where Chef Layla explained the importance of the Pakistani proverb “Three Cups of Tea” …when you share the first cup of tea you’re a stranger, with the second cup you are a friend, and with the third cup you become family.

This detour left me wanting to book a trip to Morocco (and bring Layla along to be my personal detour guide!).
